2014 Fashion tips for every Woman

For the year 2014, you will need new items in your wardrobe, because of the latest trends emerging in the runways and on the red carpet. As you surf through the internet for ideas or browse through fashion magazines, you will find a lot of trends and you just can not decide which is best for you. One of the first tips to sorting out your wardrobe and getting a new one is to be organized while shopping. It may sound obsessive compulsive to some people that fashion advice has to be organized but really, it will help you spend less and buy quality stuff.

Tip#1: Stay Organized

When you feel that you need new shoes, accessories or clothes make sure you empty your cupboard and spend a whole Sunday sorting them out. Set out with a plan of giving clothes to charity. In this way, you will be able to hang on to clothes or shoes that you feel are not worth throwing away and those which are need to go. Lightening your wardrobe really helps! Try on clothes that you have not worn in a while, and also shoes so that you know if it still looks trendy or not. Once you have sorted out what needs to go and what you are keeping, make a list of things you need. It does not have to be a specific list, more like 'I need at least 3 more casual shirts, 1 formal pair of shoes...' etc. When you go out shopping, you will have a better idea of what you need and not a bunch of things you want but have a lot of!

Tip#2: Buy Style That Will Last

It is cool to be experimental! However, if you are on a tight budget, do not go all out spending on things that you might wear once or twice and are not even sure if it suits you and your personality. Always invest in clothes, shoes, dresses and bags that will last you. That means you buy high quality and just the things you actually need.

Tip#3 :Accesorize!

So, now that you are not buying too many things, the year 2014 is all about accessories and more accessories. Bright silk scarves, gold hoop earrings, faux diamond studs, embellished metallic collars , the list goes on and one. All of these mentioned above are some of the most trending accessories this year, so basically bright and metallic is what you need to keep a look out for.

Tip#4: Shoes:

Shoes define your outfit! It's as simple as that. Whenever you do not pair the right shoes with your outfit it loses it's true character. Forexample, skinny jeans look great with ladies boots and a maxi skirt is complemented only with sandals or strappy wedges. Whenever you feel that your outfit is not complete, make sure you try on several shoes and study yourself in the mirror. This will help you in deciding how to complete your look and also make you realize how important womens shoes are. In 2014, you will be seeing a lot of metallic and neon color in shoes. Whereas style is concerned, 2014 is all about class and uniqueness which you can achieve through wedges, sandals and boots.

What Shoes to Wear With Skirt

Skirts are a popular choice for a feminine look and there is a large variety of the styles of skirts that are fashionable these days. Whether you are at work or going out for a dinner with friends, skirts seem to be a safe option. One of the best things about 2014 is that, while there are certain things that are out of fashion, yet there is so much more for you to explore from. Having your own signature style is very important, and that only comes from being comfortable in your skin. Here is a handy guide to help you choose which shoes to wear with the variety of skirt lengths that are trending this year:

Mini Skirt

While mini skirts are more fashionable if you are going out clubbing or a dinner date, it is perfectly fine to wear it to work as well. You can pair it up with a loose, full sleeve blouse on top to make it look more conservative. There is a variety of shoes that go well with mini skirts. First of all, you can never go wrong with boots and skirts, especially if they are long boots. They cover up your legs and balance out the outfit, while making you look super trendy. Think Taylor Swift or Rihanna and you can get more ideas on what shoes to wear with a shorter skirt. Oh, and of course high heel shoes for women look awesome under a mini skirt because they give your legs shape and also give you height that you need to walk comfortably in a mini skirt. High heels with this kind of skirt will make you look much taller because your legs will not be covered and the heels will be giving you more height!

Midi skirts

The trick with Mid-thigh Skirts is to maintain a balance between your shoes and the top you are wearing with it. The best idea for your outfit of the day with midi skirts is to wear heels as it will give you height and make your legs look longer. That is what every girl wants and you can definitely achieve this look by pairing a good looking high heel with this type of skirt. The pencil skirt as many call it is the quintessential skirt for the weekend BBQ or dinner and kitten heels go well with it too. Whether you wear strappy shoes, gladiator style or 'barely there' style, everything will go well asl ong as it has a heel attached to it.

Maxi Skirts A favorite kind of skirt for a trip to the beach or for a walk in the park, maxi skirts are comfortable and very chic. With a maxi skirt, the shoe you choose is more about how long the skirt is rather than what kind of shoe to wear. You obviously wont wear heels for the fear of tripping and besides it does not look very flattering. You should opt for hi-tops or wedges like these http://garageshoes.co.uk/womens/hi-tops.html if you want some height, otherwise flats is the way to go with these flow-y types of skirts. Flat sandals look gorgeous and are also super comfy for the summers. If you're wearing a maxi in winters it would e wiser to opt for closed shoes that can keep you warm as well!

Why I love Wedges style shoes

A woman can never have the right amount of shoes! Although it does sound very fancy, the truth is that there are so many different styles of shoes, for every occasion -formal or casual, plus you might want to match or contrast shoes. Some shoes you wear purely for comfort, while others you buy for their latest design. There are a lot of reasons to have a lot of shoes, and one of the shoe styles that I always have in my wardrobe are my wedge style shoes. Again, there are many reasons for a woman to love wedges style shoes, but when I put my mind to it, I came up with a list that could convince anybody to buy more.

Comfort

First and foremost, I have found wedges to be the most comfortable shoe styles so far! Yes, I hear you say that flats or ballet pumps or even sneakers are the most comfortable. They are. But, along with comfort I also look for style and the fact that I can wear them almost anywhere. They are comfortable to walk in, and give you the height you want while being one of the few shoes that you can wear almost to any event. I can easily walk in the office, go up and down the stairs and even rush to the coffee shop to grab lunch. I can do all that and look fancy too, which is a big plus for me as I like to be and feel dressed up when I am out of the house.

Style

Wedges can be worn to weddings and office alike! That is my favorite part, because they never go out of style. Wedges are never considered to be non-fashionable and have been on the shoe store shelves for more than 40 years now. While high heel shoes have their own aura, wedges give you the height of heels and the style as well. With the heels of wedges, your legs look more shapely and if you find walking in high heels difficult then this is your second best style option. Another major advantage of wedges is that if you have heavy ankles, they can make them appear thinner because of the way they shape your legs.

Versatility

Wedges style shoes are versatile! They are absolutely gorgeous and look very high end cosmopolitan while giving you comfort. You can buy a fancy pair for weddings, casual one for office and even black ones for funerals! Yes, that is exactly why I have so many wedges in my shoes wardrobe because on days when I have to walk around like in the office, dance on a weekend party or stand and chat at cocktail parties, they are my best companion. Whether it is formal or casual, wedges will always be there to make your day easy. They are versatile and can save you on a rainy day when you just don't know what pair of shoes to wear.

Go with outfits

So, if I'm having a bad day choosing what pair of shoes to wear with which outfit, I close my eyes and pick out a pair of wedges. If you are going for a beach holiday, the strap up wedge heels made from cloth straps that wrap around your legs, sometimes even up to your knees, look very sexy. However, if you are going for a formal office meeting you could opt for the 'barely there' styled black or nude wedges. Not only that but they go with all outfits! They look really hot with maxi skirts, Bohemian style pants, short A-line skirts, flair bell bottom pants and even your formal black knee-length skirt. With the trend of skinny jeans, wedges go really well with them too!

My Fashion Plan for 2014

Every new year calls for new resolutions, to learn from your mistakes and fix all the things you did wrong. Not only that, but some things become so dragged out and over popular, especially in terms of fashion that you have to ditch them and move on. So, while a lot of trends are ever green and stick around, there are many fashion trends that fade away, mostly for the best. Personally, I have a lot of fashion resolutions to make in the year 2014 where I will be ditching a few trends and picking on some upcoming and new ones.

My biggest new year fashion resolution is that I will try to embrace more trends, colors and prints! 2014 will be all about embracing new things, experimenting with different styles and being more open towards fashion. The previous year 2013 taught me that if you do not experiment and stick to the safe stuff, it becomes difficult to be extraordinary. Follow your gut feeling by looking around, browsing through latest fashion shows and magazines. Staying away from sheer fabrics was not a good decision, and since it will be picking up in 2014, this is part of my fashion plan for the upcoming year. Obviously will look better in the summers, but sheer fabrics in shirts and skirts are definitely in if you pair it with a little floral something under it.

My fashion plan for 2014 as far as my hair is concerned is to cut it short. No matter what anyone says, I am definitely planning on being experimental and going for a fun looking pixie cut! It is a bit on the wild side, but nonetheless, somewhere in 2014 I will be chopping off those tresses to go for a shorter, sexier hair cut. Shorter hair is a trend that is here to stay because it helps show off your neck and shoulders in off shoulder dresses and low back shirts that are also trendy.

My favorite fashion indulgence is shoes and for that, again I will try to pick up experimental colors and styles that some would consider unsafe. Urban chic ladies shoes are a must-have next season, which includes street style and grungy looking shoes and boots. Leather, chunky boots with buckles and platform heels are definitely on my list. Online stores like Clarks have a lot of womens shoes, and if you are smart enough to browse through it you often find something interesting within reasonable range.

Another resolution I have made for this year is to save money! Yes, being a fashionista and wanting to save money may sound a bit strange but it is quite possible. Instead of spending lots of money on regular and ordinary things, it is better to save and spend on extraordinary and exquisite pieces. Statement shoes, or a gorgeous jacket are worth investing in, instead of buying a lot of reasonably priced item, because in the end you spend the same amount of money. So, while I might not save TOO much money at least I will spend it wisely. Also, you will find so many DIY tutorials online to help you refurbish your old shoes or an old jacket to completely transform it into something new.

These are the major fashion plans for 2014, and the list will keep increasing as the year goes on. For now, I am definitely sticking to these and already feeling quite determined. Hope it inspires you too to have a super trendy 2014!

True Confessions of a Shoe-A-Holic!

Yes, I am a Shoe-a-holic and could definitely give competition to many who claim to be. That is not only because I own many pairs of heels, platforms, sneakers and shoes for every occasion but I am constantly in touch with the latest trends. Nobody wants to fall behind in shoe trends and although they do not change all that much, there is always something that is in and a style that is out of trend. There are no amount of shoes and high heels that can satiate the love of a shoe-lover! Indeed, as the season change and leaves change their colors, so do the trends of shoes in a woman's life. The New York Spring 2014 Fashion week gave us a lot of hints on what will be trending in the upcoming year and what all shoe-a-holics should be looking forward to. Thus, for all those women shoe-lovers like me, here is a list of the top shoe trends that we can expect to see in 2014:

Lace-up Heel Sandals were not much of a trend in 2013 when they first started showing up on the runway, but in 2014, you should expect to see a lot of it, so stock up for the upcoming season while you have the chance. Also seen worn by BCBG models on the ramp, lace-up heeled sandals will definitely be a trend to watch out for! Whether you go for the thin strappy laces or the thicker leather straps, everything in between is trendy and what you buy depends on how it looks on your foot plus how it complements your outfit.

Platform Sandals, like the ones worn at the Michael Kors fashion runway are going to be very fashionable in the upcoming year 2014. For the sake of comfort and the height they give, these platform heels are definitely much loved by most shoe designers. Thick block heels are also a type of platform heels which are considered to be the hottest trends especially if they are in a different color than the rest of the shoe.

Cut outs, are shoes that have leather straps cut out to give your feet a funky and super-cool look. For Spring 2014, Phillip Lim's cutout sandals caught a lot of attention by all fashion experts and trend predictors. You can easily find these shoe styles at all high end fashion shops but also at some reasonably priced Internet shoe shop. Since, cut-out dresses are all also gaining popularity. Cutout sandals don't seem to be far away.

Wedge Sneakers, as many thought are not really out of fashion and we should expect to see these all over the place as we saw them on the Spring 2014 fashion week with Tommy Hilfiger's collection. They go with casual outfits and are awesome for people living in colder climates as they keep you warm and trendy at the same time. Not only that but they are super comfortable to walk around in and give you that sexy height you need to wear skinny jeans or jeggings. There is nothing that matches better with jeggings or a street chic mini skirt, than ap air of funky wedge sneakers.
